I know you are thinking i have jumped into the pit after the match has ended. But let me assure you, i am not blogging away to convince you to update your status message to "Save our national animal" or force you to let out a tweet for this noble cause.
I am just wondering what a few people/ things who others have ignored might feel upon this issue.
A poacher might think "What the hell am i gonna if all these striped cats vanish?Looks like i have to stop poaching after all!Well, atleast for a while. Better call a meeting of our poaching brethren and advise them to shift to another animal. How about the bears? Or maybe the evergreen deers? Lets see what they have got to say."
Authors note: Looks like the campaign is really gonna help after all!
King of the jungle (Hint: its not a gorilla) - "These humans must be crazy! While there is such a royal animal like me around(who is also facing complete extinction btw), they wanna save an animal who is nightblind and works/ hunts all the time! Whereas I, the King of the Jungle is left uncared for! 1411 my foot. Let them check the numbers of my kind. Probably 141 left."
Edward Norton (actor) - "I remember in my biggest movie, Fight Club, there was this cool dialogue 'Pounding that kid, I felt like putting a bullet into the head of every panda that wouldnt screw to save its species from extinction'. Maybe i should talk to the producer and ask him to change the 'panda' here to 'tiger' and see if these outsourcing crazy asians will like it and add a few more mill to my bank account!"
Russel Peters (stand-up comedian): Hmm.. Maybe Indian tigers have a different accent as compared to Siberian ones. I should find out soon and see if i can make up any good jokes on that. How about this? 'Indian tiger walks into a restoraunt and says " i would like some lip smacking food please. Preferably bison"'(in typical indian accent). Pretty good eh?"
MTV Tickr "Just 1411 tigers left. Looks like they have to follow a certain Tiger!!"
If this post has managed to bring even a small smile on your face, you should have understood how stupid and commercial this campaign really is. Its ridiculous to think its really gonna save our tigers.
